The amount of times he’s delivered and he keeps charging in and has played a big part in us winning this game.”Derbyshire head coach John Sadler said: “After spending a day-and-a-half in the field it was always going to be hard chasing those runs down but we didn’t bat well first innings and we’ve been comprehensively beaten.”We have spoken about first innings runs and we’ve not been good enough really in the first innings in the last few games and that’s what sets the game up so we know that’s crucial and we’ve not fired.”

Liverpool are planning a midfield overhaul this summer and will be seeking a formula to ensnare Chelsea ace Mason Mount, who has been highly touted across recent months.

According to The Athletic, Arsenal are edging the race to sign the out-of-sorts midfielder as the 22/23 campaign draws to a close, though Jurgen Klopp's Liverpool and Manchester United are both very much alive in the pursuit of the 24-year-old.

The Blues, who will welcome Mauricio Pochettino to the dugout in several weeks, will also attempt to hammer out an agreement with Mount as his contract at Stamford Bridge approaches its final year.

Mount's season has been the most challenging of his career, and while he is endeared by Chelsea fans and a boyhood Blue, his story at the outfit might just be drawing to a close.

Mount could certainly take a leaf from Wijnaldum's book and occupy a deeper, pivoting role on Merseyside, already displaying signs of prowess in that area by ranking among the top 15% of midfielders across Europe's top five leagues over the past year for progressive carries, also exhibiting his creative side by ranking among the top 14% for shot-creating actions per 90, as per FBref.

While not enjoying the most fruitful of seasons, Mount's innate ability is unquestionable, and he could be crafted into a "superstar" – as he has been dubbed by journalist Adi Joseph – under Klopp's stewardship.

Chelsea's on-loan attacker Joao Felix won't join the club on a permanent basis in the summer transfer window, according to a new update.

How has Felix performed for Chelsea?

The Portuguese star made the move to Stamford Bridge back in January, having struggled to find top form in an Atletico Madrid shirt. There were high hopes that he could have a positive impact for the Blues, but in truth, things haven't panned out that way.

Felix has flattered to deceive in a Chelsea shirt, showing sprinklings of quality but ultimately contributing nowhere near enough, scoring just four times in 17 Premier League appearances. He also failed to find the net in four Champions League games, and not a single assist has come his way, in all competitions.

With Mauricio Pochettino now set to be in charge of the Blues imminently, he has a decision to make regarding the 23-year-old, in terms of whether to sign him permanently or not. A fresh claim suggests that a decision has already been made, though.

Will Felix sign permanently for Blues?

According to Football Insider, Felix "is heading out of Chelsea for good this summer", with Pochettino not seeing him as part of his plans and the club "unwilling to meet Atletico Madrid’s demand of nearly £69million to make his Stamford Bridge switch permanent."

Instead, the new Blues boss is "believed to have other targets in mind that the club believed the money would be better spent on", once he officially takes charge on July 1st.

Essentially, Felix's loan move was an audition for him at Chelsea, as he looked for a permanent move away from Atletico, having been given a chance to prove his worth. He has been an undoubted disappointment, however, and while the team's struggles as a whole can be partly used as an excuse, far more was still required.

It is, therefore, the correct decision not to retain the 30-time capped Portugal international's services – he has only scored five times for his country in that time – even though the £195,000-a-week attacker has been lauded as a "special" player by Alvaro Morata in the past.

While Felix is still a young player, he is threatening to not fulfil his vast potential, having won the prestigious European Golden Boys award back in 2019, with the likes of Kylian Mbppe, Erling Haaland and Pedri also scooping the prize in the past. Chelsea needed to see far more from consistency from him, in terms of making his temporary move permanent.

وأضاف: “الموعد المقترح حاليًا لـ كأس أمم إفريقيا هو في الفترة من 20 يوليو إلى 16 أو 17 أغسطس 2025”.

وتابع: “مسؤولو فيفا شاركوا الاتحاد الإفريقي والاتحاد المغربي في المفاوضات، حرصا منهم على التأكيد على أهمية مشاركة الفرق الإفريقية الأربعة التي تتأهل لكأس العالم للأندية بكامل عناصرها في المسابقة التي يوليها فيفا اهتماما كبيرًا”.

Aston Villa are currently in talks with midfielder John McGinn over a new deal at the club, according to a fresh update regarding his future.

When is McGinn out of contract at Villa?

The Scot has been an outstanding servant for the Villans over a sustained period now, maturing by the year and now the captain at the club.

McGinn has racked up 183 appearances for Villa in total, scoring 17 goals and registering 26 assists along the way, and he also has 54 caps to his name for Scotland.

At 28, the midfielder remains at the peak of his powers, so Unai Emery will surely consider him a key man for the foreseeable future. His current deal expires in the summer of 2025, and while that is still two years away, they don't want to reach a point where they could lose him for a cut-price amount.

A new update suggests that an extension looks likely for McGinn, as the Villans try to keep hold of key players this summer, as well as sign exciting additions.

Could McGinn be set to sign new deal?

According to Football Insider, "talks are ongoing between John McGinn and Aston Villa over a new contract at the club", with the 28-year-old still seen as a "key member" of the setup at Villa Park.

It is stated that club chiefs "want to tie McGinn down to a long-term deal to ward off potential summer interest", with the player himself still "happy at Villa Park". There is confidence that an agreement will be reached in the near future.

Tying down McGinn to a new contract is an absolute no-brainer for Villa, with the midfielder such a consistent performer down the years, and someone who brings box-to-box energy in the middle of the park, not to mention provide strong leadership, too.

Last season, the £50,000-a-week Villans ace averaged 1.9 tackles per game across 34 Premier League appearances, as well as 1.3 dribbles per match, showing that he is an effective presence both on and off the ball. He has also been hailed as "universally respected" at the club by Steven Gerrard during his time as manager.

McGinn still has so much to offer, with his best years not likely to go away for another three or four years, and he can continue to be a massive part of the Emery revolution taking place at Villa Park currently.
