30/31 de outubro: Flamengo x Atlético-MG, no Rio de Janeiro, pela 29ª rodada;

2 de novembro: Athletico-PR x Flamengo, em Curitiba, pela quarta rodada;

5 de novembro: Flamengo x Atlético-GO, no Rio de Janeiro, pela 19ª rodada;

Fora as convocações.
Flamengo x Atlético-MG (31/10 – Domingo) /Athletico x Flamengo (2/11 – Terça)
Flamengo x Atlético-GO (5/11 – Sexta) /Chapecoense x Flamengo (7/11 – Domingo).Isonomia, não é?

India finding their groove as injuries stretch Australia

Finch is awaiting results of scans, Lyon added to squad; India must fill Jadeja the batsman’s shoes

Big pictureIndia are getting into this tour. Victory in the final ODI and the opening T20I means there is a bit of spring in their step as they return to Sydney for the final two white-ball matches before attention firmly switches to the Test series, although while these matches are taking place the SCG Test preparations will be ramping up for others against Australia A across town at Drummoyne Oval.It was a tremendous fightback from India in the opening match. From a position where they appeared to be struggling to post 140 before the late onslaught by Ravindra Jadeja, who has since been ruled out of the series with the concussion that brought in Yuzvendra Chahal to play his decisive role with the ball.In the chase, Australia were well placed at 72 for 1 but Steven Smith and Glenn Maxwell fell in consecutive overs and not for the first time a lack of hitting power down the order was exposed, although India’s bowlers exploited a pitch that started to hold more as the game went on.Given the condensed nature of this tour, there will be some further juggling of players. Australia have released Cameron Green to join the Australia A squad, but Mitchell Swepson will remain with the T20I group following his swift call-up following Ashton Agar’s injury. With Australia potentially missing up to six players, who would likely be the first-choice players in their T20 XI – captain Aaron Finch was awaiting results on scans on Saturday after picking up a hip or glute injury in Canberra – this feels like a good chance for India to claim the series.ALSO WATCH: Natarajan’s three-for on T20I debut (Indian subcontinent only)Form guide

India WWT(won super over)T(won super over)WIn the spotlightAfter two below-par ODIs, Mitchell Starc looked much more like his usual self in his opening two overs in the first T20I, finding late swing including the sharp outswinger which Shikhar Dhawan got nowhere near. His last two overs went for 23, but it was his 144kph short ball that Jadeja top-edged on to his helmet to suffer concussion. Now that he’s out of the remaining T20Is*, Australia’s No. 8 spot is up for grabs for which they could bring in Andrew Tye, who hasn’t played international cricket for over two years, or the uncapped Daniel Sams, who was the BBL’s leading-wicket-taker last season and will be a more like-for-like replacement with his left-arm pace.ALSO WATCH: Starc uproots Dhawan’s off stump (Indian subcontinent only)Given how he came into the side and dominated, all the talk was about Chahal, but Washington Sundar’s performance with the ball was also vital in India’s victory. Team newsFinch remains doubtful, and if he misses out it would require a change of captaincy with Matthew Wade likely to step in. It would also need reinforcements to the batting and would probably see Wade open with D’Arcy Short, which could create a vacancy for Alex Carey to return in the middle order. Nathan Lyon has been drafted into the squad and could challenge for Swepson’s spot to offer a counterbalance to Adam Zampa’s legspin. Josh Hazlewood has played all the white-ball matches so far so he might be due a rest. Rangers struck gold on Clement signing who’s worth 4x more than Barron

Glasgow Rangers manager Philippe Clement may have made seven summer signings already, but according to the Gers boss, several are not ready for first-team action at Ibrox straight away.

This is perhaps a smart way of taking the pressure off the youngsters at Rangers, but it is also clear that Clement's side need to bring in some experience ahead of the new season.

Indeed, the Rangers boss spoke during the club’s pre-season training camp in the Netherlands, stating that two new additions – the likes of Clinton Nsiala and Hamza Igamane – would be immediate starters for the Light Blues.

Another player who should be ready to go is Connor Barron, who will be looking to force his way into the starting XI ahead of the new season.

Why Connor Barron could be an excellent signing for Rangers

Barron joined on a free transfer a couple of weeks ago and has some experience in the Scottish top flight, making nearly 50 appearances in the competition for Aberdeen since 2021.

The youngster has the potential to be an excellent midfielder over the next couple of years, and it was a smart piece of transfer business by Clement to bring him in for nothing.

According to Transfermarkt, his current market value stands at around €1m (£850k) but there is no doubt this value will rise over the coming years if he delivers on his vast potential.

While he looks good to be a key member of the squad, Clement has already struck gold on someone who arrived at Ibrox back in January, as Mohamed Diomande looks like he might just make the Light Blues a substantial profit in the near future.

Why Rangers have struck gold on Mohamed Diomande

The young Ivorian joined on an initial loan deal midway through the 2023/24 season before sealing a permanent move this summer.

Mohamed Diomande for Rangers.

During the second half of last season, Diomande showcased his class by scoring twice across 19 appearances for the Light Blues while averaging 1.5 key passes per game, creating a big chance and winning over 50% of his total duels per game, demonstrating his ability in a range of performance metrics.

This six-month settling in period will have done the player the world of good ahead of his first pre-season at Rangers, and he should be ready to hit the ground running when the new campaign begins.

Dubbed as “aggressive” by analyst John Walker earlier this year, Diomande has everything in his locker to be a success over the next few years for the Light Blues.

According to Transfermarkt, his current market valuation stands at €4m (£3.4m), which means he is worth four times more than Barron.

A midfield partnership of Barron and Diomande could be the cornerstone of any success that Clement and his men aim to achieve over the coming years. They are both under the age of 23, offer differing qualities and are ready to make their mark for the Light Blues.

Don’t be surprised to see Diomande being linked with moves to England sooner rather than later, as his qualities will surely tempt a few Premier League sides to make a move.

Imagine him & Barron: Rangers send scouts to watch "midfield machine"

The Light Blues are interested in a deal to sign the Premiership central midfielder.

Euro club want £30m Nottingham Forest star as talks scheduled for next week

A number of players have already left Nottingham Forest this summer, and it appears that the side could be set for further exits from the City Ground before the transfer window closes.

Forest set for further exits this summer

With much of last season clouded by the looming threat of financial sanctions, it had long been known that this summer would see Forest part ways with numerous star players. So far, the window has seen this prediction come true, with a number of players calling time on their careers at the City Ground.

Despite the multitude of players who have already left the club, Forest could be set for further exits, with attacking talents Morgan Gibbs-White and Anthony Elanga both attracting interest from other sides.

Morgan Gibbs-White celebrates for Nottingham Forest

The duo have both been linked with moves to fellow Premier League side Newcastle United, with the Magpies attempting to bolster their attack ready for next season and cover for the potential loss of Anthony Gordon.

With the Forest departures set to continue, it looks as if a club official is travelling to England to negotiate a deal for another of Nuno Espírito Santo's players.

Club official set for talks over Forest midfielder

Sport Witness has relayed a story from the Turkish press claiming that Fenerbahce are showing interest in Nottingham Forest’s Ibrahim Sangare, with a club official set to travel to England for talks.

The outlet states that Fenerbahce's sporting director, Mario Branco, will be travelling to speak to clubs about both Sangare and Crystal Palace's Jefferson Lerma. It is claimed that the Süper Lig side are still in the market for a new midfielder after seemingly losing the race to sign Tottenham Hotspur's Pierre-Emile Højbjerg, and will choose to pursue one of the other midfielders.

Ibrahim Sangare

Lerma has been previously linked with a move to Fenerbahce, though Sport Witness reports that the Colombian recently played down these rumours in the press. Sangare, on the other hand, is a new name for the Turkish side and could be a likely exit from the City Ground after failing to impress during his time at Forest.

The Ivorian midfielder arrived at The City Ground on deadline day of summer 2023, joining for a reported fee in the region of £30million. In his first season in England, the former PSV man struggled, starting just 13 Premier League games last term.

Speaking shortly after his appointment as Forest manager in December 2023, Espirito Santo spoke of Sangare's struggles, telling the press:

“He is not in his best moment yet. He was seriously ill, he lost weight and has had injury problems. But he is an option for us. I know him and I expect him to help the team. He can be very, very helpful to us.”

Having signed a five-year contract with Forest, the club may choose to persevere with Sangare into the future or just cut their losses and hope to recoup as much of the initial fee as possible this summer.

James Neesham undergoes surgery for compound dislocation on left ring finger

New Zealand allrounder James Neesham has undergone surgery for a compound dislocation on his left ring finger. Cricket Wellington said on Twitter that Neesham has a splint on, and that he will be reviewed by a hand specialist in a week. Neesham had sustained the injury during Wellington Firebirds’ game against Canterbury Kings on January 16. He is expected to return to action for the back end of the ongoing Super Smash tournament, where Wellington are currently leading the table.Neesham had featured in five of his team’s six matches thus far, scoring 65 runs and taking eight wickets – the joint-most – at an average of 16.25. On Saturday against Canterbury, he top-scored with 49 to lead Wellington to 154 for 7. However, he was unable to close out the match with the ball, conceding 30 runs from 3.4 overs as Wellington suffered their first loss of the season. He underwent surgery later on Saturday night.

Neesham, who has mostly been restricted to T20 cricket in recent months, had struggled for form during the IPL in the UAE, managing just 19 runs and two wickets from five matches for Kings XI Punjab, who finished sixth on the table and missed out on the playoffs for the sixth straight year.Despite that lean run, Neesham was included in the T20I squad for the home series against West Indies and Pakistan. He made a decisive contribution in the first T20I against West Indies at Eden Park, stroking an unbeaten 24-ball 48 – his highest T20I score – to take New Zealand to victory in a rain-affected chase.

England back opening combo of Tammy Beaumont and Danni Wyatt

Head coach Lisa Keightley believes Wyatt’s ODI form ‘will come good’ ahead of World Cup

Valkerie Baynes28-Feb-2021They have had contrasting tours of New Zealand so far, but England are backing the opening combination ofTammy Beaumont and Danni Wyatt as they look ahead to their World Cup defence. After defeat in the third and final match of their ODI series, which England won 2-1, Beaumont had amassed 231 runs with three half-centuries from as many innings, carrying her bat in the last two.Wyatt, in comparison, had managed scores of 17, 0, and 1 despite showing promise with 54 in one of the the pre-series warm-ups. Before that, her highest ODI score of 110 – made against Pakistan in Kuala Lumpur in December 2019 – remains her most notable innings amid limited recent opportunities in the format due to the Covid-19 pandemic upsetting the women’s schedule last year. In T20s, Wyatt has failed to reach 30 in 13 innings since that trip to Malaysia when she also scored a fifty against Pakistan.Related

But, as England turn their focus to a three-match T20I series against New Zealand, head coach Lisa Keightley expressed faith that Wyatt would rediscover her white-ball form in the next 12 months leading up to the 50-over World Cup, which will also be held in New Zealand.”Everyone knows what a class player Dan is,” Keightley said via Zoom from New Zealand. “She probably hasn’t had the runs that she wanted. She just needs to have a clear mind, back her ability and execute her strengths.”When Dan is going, with Dan and Tammy up the front, it will be a really exciting time when that happens and I’m backing them in that we’ll see that throughout the summer.”Dan up front, I’m really confident she’s a player who can take on teams and that’s what we want. We want her to be able to play free flowing cricket and take it to teams and I’m really confident that she’ll come good in this [ODI] format.”Danni Wyatt endured a lean ODI series in New Zealand•Getty Images

Beaumont, recognised as one of England’s leading ODI players, seemed to relish her return to 50-over cricket, having navigated her own challenges in T20Is last year. Shuffled round the order previously, she settled into a rhythm as opener during England’s 5-0 sweep of their series against West Indies, the only international cricket of their home summer. She subsequently had a relatively lean WBBL campaign with the bat for champions Sydney Thunder and will no doubt be looking to convert her ODI form when England face New Zealand in the first T20I on Wednesday.”Tammy Beaumont showed her dominance in this format,” Keightley said after the third ODI. “It’s been brilliant for her to score as many runs as she has and she’ been a real anchor for us and that’s allowed Heather [Knight] and Nat [Sciver] to play a few more shots and take teams on a little bit more.”Tammy Beaumont on the drive•Getty Images

Knight, who scored two half-centuries of her own during the ODI series, was full of praise for Beaumont.”So important for us in ODI cricket, Tammy’s got a brilliant record probably over the last four or five years now,” Knight said. “I’m really pleased that she’s carried that on. She’s a real rock for us and her consistency is a really good example for the rest of the team.”She’s found that role where we can bat around her a little bit and other batters be a little bit more aggressive and her be a rock for us. Hopefully it continues. She’s a key player for us.”
