Hora do aquecimento para entrar em campo. Celeiro de novos talentos do futebol, a Copa Zico Verão Clavis terá nova edição no Rio entre os dias 9 e 19 de dezembro. Desde 2008, a competição reúne crianças e adolescentes de diferentes classes sociais, com equipes formadas em bairros, comunidades e projetos de impacto social. Criada em 2008 por iniciativa do próprio Zico, a Copa oferece uma oportunidade aos novos talentos do futebol, através da integração de jovens e crianças apaixonadas pelo esporte. Nesta edição, o torneio reunirá 80 clubes amadores e mais de dois mil jogadores, que disputarão cinco categorias: sub-9, sub-11, sub-13, sub-15 e sub-17.

A iniciativa veio de uma ideia de Zico, que tinha um objetivo claro: abrir espaço para as futuras gerações de atletas, mas, sobretudo, integrar classes diferentes de jovens apaixonados por futebol. O evento no Rio de Janeiro é organizado e realizado pela Coimbra A2.

– A Copa Zico sempre revelou bons talentos e é uma grande oportunidade para a garotada. Gostaria de agradecer à Clavis, nossa parceria, por patrocinar mais uma edição da competição, e espero mais uma vez estar presente na entrega dos troféus – disse Zico, maior ídolo do Flamengo.

Os jogos terão lugar no CFZ, uma área de 32 mil metros quadrados no Recreio, com cinco campos (sendo dois de grama natural). Um deles – o do Estádio Antunes – tem dimensões oficiais (100 x 68m). As inscrições ficam abertas até o dia 5 de dezembro. Vale destacar que não podem participar atletas federados.

A West Brom player with a “huge” personality could miss his side’s Championship clash with Plymouth Argyle this weekend, according to Carlos Corberan.

West Brom look to stay top of Championship

The Baggies found themselves top of the Championship table at the end of last weekend, having produced a superb performance in their 3-0 win away to Portsmouth. That, coupled with Sunderland’s surprise 3-2 loss away to Plymouth, meant that Corberan’s side reached the table’s summit, meaning they are now the team to beat in the division.

Next up for West Brom is Saturday’s visit of the Pilgrims at The Hawthorns, and while the hosts will be resounding favourites to get all three points, their opponents showed against previous league leaders Sunderland what they are capable of.

While there is much to be positive about from a Baggies perspective currently, a concerning injury update has dropped regarding an important figure.

West Brom suffer injury concern before Plymouth

Speaking ahead of the clash with Plymouth, Corberan revealed that West Brom ace Jayson Molumby is a doubt for Saturday’s game because of a calf complaint:

“Molumby still didn’t recover well from the calf perspective, he was playing with some problem during the Portsmouth game. During training he couldn’t make a normal week, so let’s say he’s a doubt, we have to see how he reacts in the last days to see if he can be involved or he can’t.”

Not having Molumby available would be an undoubted setback for West Brom, given his quality and experience at the heart of his team’s midfield. The 25-year-old now has 108 appearances to his name for the Baggies, not to mention winning 25 caps for the Republic of Ireland, while Corberan has made it clear what he thinks of him, hailing his personality:

“I think the personality and the goals that he has are very huge. The commitment that he has with himself, with the club, with the team, he was playing today with a lot of pain in the ankle. He was having to have an injection to play today, yesterday he couldn’t complete training, only half, but he is going to make a career because he has the determination to make it. Some people with adversity – they give up. Molumby is not going to do that.”

This perfectly sums up what a big character Molumby is and why West Brom will miss not having him to call upon this weekend, having started every other Championship game so far this season. In that time, the £17,000-a-week Irishman has enjoyed an 88% pass completion rate and averaged two clearances per game, showing that he is a force both in and out of possession.

Looking at the table, West Brom should still have enough to get past Plymouth, even though their key midfielder will be a miss if he is out, and it would be a disappointment if Corberan’s men weren’t still top of the Championship when this weekend reaches its conclusion.

وفقًا لبيانات موقع “ترانسفير ماركت” المتخصص في عرض القيمة السوقية، فإن هناك فجوة مالية كبيرة بين الفريقين من حيث القيمة السوقية، حيث تبلغ قيمة لاعبي الأهلي 33.90 مليون يورو، فيما لا تتجاوز القيمة السوقية لفريق الهلال 1.58 مليون يورو.

Rahim played the one-off Test in Harare last week but, having injured his hand while batting, stayed off the field for most of the game. He was also initially supposed to skip the T20I series after the board granted him leave.He wasn’t named in the T20I squad against Zimbabwe but on Tuesday, chief selector Minhajul Abedin had said Rahim could be among the ODI squad players to stay back for the T20Is due to quarantine rules for the upcoming T20I series against Australia at home.The BCB and CA have agreed that everyone involved in the series must be in quarantine for ten days prior to entering the tour’s bio-bubble in Dhaka. As such, the selectors wanted Rahim and another player to be part of the bio-bubble in Harare, which is being considered as part of the ten-day quarantine.

Tottenham Hotspur are now keen to snap up a rising star in La Liga for Ange Postecoglou, and a move may only be one step away according to a new report.

Tottenham looking for attacking options

Spurs are still on the hunt for attackers to bolster their frontline despite a summer window which saw two arrive. Dominic Solanke became the club’s record signing when he arrived from fellow Premier League side Bournemouth in a deal worth £65m and has hit the ground running at his new club as he looks to fill the shoes vacated by England teammate Harry Kane 12 months ago, form which has seen him recalled to the England set up for the first time in seven years.

Meanwhile, the club also signed winger Wilson Odobert from Burnley, with the French teenager seen very much as one for the future after impressing in the Premier League last season, though injury means that he will have to wait to really begin showing what he can do in north London.

But there are concerns over depth, with Dejan Kulusevski having been moved to a more central area in midfield alongside James Maddison, and Timo Werner only on loan for the 24/25 campaign, though there is an option to buy the German.

There are also question marks over Richarlison, who has failed to impress consistently since his £50m move to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium from Everton, and Heung Min Son cannot continue to play every game for the Lilywhites. Now, Spurs are looking to freshen up their frontline and have turned to LaLiga in the hope to do so.

That comes as reports in Spain claim that Postecoglou’s side have joined the race to sign promising Valencia striker Hugo Duro. The 24-year-old has also been in the sights of West Ham United and has scored twice already this season including against league leaders Barcelona.

He still has four years left to run on his £67,000 a week deal in Spain, but there are reports that he could be available for between €25m and €30m (£20.8m and £25m) in the upcoming transfer windows.

As per reports in Spain, Spurs have joined the race for Duro and they go as far as to suggest that Tottenham “could be one step away” from signing the striker.

That comes with Tottenham being the “most interested in securing his services” and Daniel Levy, Postecoglou and co have identified him as someone who can “add dynamism and youth” to their squad. Valencia for their part do not “rule out a possible exit”, though the step that is still required is an offer being made for the striker, which Spurs are still yet to do.

Any move for another striker could likely need to come after a departure, with both Richarlison and Will Lankshear among the options Postecoglou can call on at present. However, with Richarlison failing to convince and Lankshear unexposed, it’s not beyond the realms of possibility.

Stumps England just made too much ground in that middle session. Joe Root hit his third hundred of the series and sixth of the year. Dawid Malan struck a fifty. England went to tea 220 runs ahead with seven wickets in hand, and though they ended the day eight down, they scored briskly through session three as well, finishing 345 runs in front. India needed a dramatic collapse to force themselves back into the match on day two, and did their best to set one in motion during an attritional first session. But they were eventually foiled by Root in the form of his already exceptional cricketing life.Once Root got going after lunch, India’s strategy of bowling tightly and keeping the runs down – which had been somewhat successful in a morning session in which they removed the overnight batters – was essentially torn apart. It’s not that Root’s innings was necessarily a counterattack – he just went into ODI mode and found ways to score off even good balls, frequently deflecting balls in the arc between point and third man in particular. He was on 27 off his first 25 balls, 41 off 50, and reached triple figures off the 123rd ball he faced.Growing in confidence as he batted in Root’s slipstream, Malan grew in confidence as he hit 70 off 128 balls in his comeback Test innings.
