Rangers Could Sign £10k-p/w ‘Danger Man’ To Replace Morelos

Glasgow Rangers manager Michael Beale will face a lot of tough decisions this summer in regard to assembling his first team squad for next season.

Alfredo Morelos is already departing the Ibrox side following the expiration of his contract and with six other first-team players coming towards the end of their deals, there could be a few players moving on this summer.

Beale could also move on others who haven’t contributed this season, with Kemar Roofe being a prime example. The forward has missed 35 matches this term and this isn’t justifying his £26k-per-week wages.

It is Morelos who will be missed the most, however, with the striker ending his six-year association with the Gers by departing for nothing.

The Colombian hitman has scored 124 goals for the Light Blues, becoming their top scorer in European competition along the way and his fiery personality and clinical nature certainly endeared him to the Ibrox faithful over the years.

Although this season hasn't gone to plan, scoring 12 in 44 outings, Beale will still need to sign someone who could replace his goals.

The Gers have been linked with Swansea City striker Joel Piroe in recent months, and he could well be an ideal heir for Morelos for the 2023/24 campaign.

Could Joel Piroe replace Alfredo Morelos?

The £10k-per-week forward has enjoyed life at the Welsh club over the previous few seasons, scoring 24 goals in 2021/22 and finding the net on 20 occasions this season, suggesting he is a prolific frontman that can score on a regular basis.

His contract expires in 2024 which could allow Beale to potentially secure his signature for a knockdown fee, especially if he is willing to make the move to the Light Blues.

Journalist Josh Bunting has lauded the striker as a “danger man” for his goal-scoring exploits in the Championship and aged only 23, he has still yet to hit his peak years.

Rangers striker Alfredo Morelos.

Piroe demonstrated his importance this season for Swansea by ranking third for big chances created (five), first for goals (19) and first for shots on target per game, displaying his all-round attacking abilities.

He could be an excellent option for Beale to utilise, and his current weekly wage suggests he is more than affordable, especially with Morelos leaving following the end of his contract.

The Englishman will require players who are capable of scoring 15–20 goals a season in order to keep pace with Celtic’s goal-scoring exploits, as they have already netted 105 goals and there are still three games left to play, while nothing suggests they will stop next term either.

Piroe is young, hungry for goals and the perfect fit for Rangers. He would be a superb heir to Morelos at Ibrox.

Man Utd Have "Had Conversations" With "Extraordinary" £49m Star

Manchester United have "had conversations" with Napoli defender Kim Min-jae regarding a summer move to Old Trafford, according to transfer guru Fabrizio Romano.

Who will sign Kim Min-jae?

According to Il Mattino, Kim has a €56m (£49m) release clause included in his contract, which becomes active in the summer, however there are a number of teams in the race for his signature, which could make a transfer difficult to orchestrate.

Chelsea are reportedly interested in the centre-back, with the Blues "ready to offer" a deal, with Manchester City and Newcastle United also named as potential suitors, and the latter club have been sending scouts to monitor his performances.

There have been recent reports that Man United are now set to trigger the defender's release clause, while also offering him four times his currently salary, and Romano has now provided an update on Erik ten Hag's pursuit.

In an interview with GiveMeSport, the transfer guru clarified when the South Korean's release clause is set to become active, and claimed that direct contact has already been made with the player himself.

The Italian said: "The release clause of Kim Min-jae is only valid in the first few days of July. It's not valid now and it is not valid in June, so Manchester United can't proceed with that now.

"They can speak to the player side and they had conversations with the player because they have an interest."

Who is Kim Min-jae?

The 26-year-old first started to make a name for himself at Fenerbahce last season, making 31 Super Lig appearances for the Turkish side, and he excelled defensively, averaging 2.3 interceptions and 4.1 clearances per game, the highest figures in the squad.

Since then, the 6 foot 3 colossus has gone on to be a huge success with Napoli, averaging a 7.24 Sofascore rating in the Serie A this season, the third-highest figure in the squad, largely due to his stellar defensive ability.

Napoli's Kim Min-jae

The South Korea international has averaged 2.8 aerials and 1.2 interceptions won per game in the Serie A this season, both figures placing him first in the entire squad, while his confidence in possession is indicated by the fact he has the fourth-highest pass success rate.

Hailed as "extraordinary" by teammate Khvicha Kvartskhelia, Kim would be an excellent signing for Man United this summer, particularly considering his relatively low price tag, and they should now step up negotiations about his contract.

Tottenham Hotspur Agree Terms With £21m "Monster"

Tottenham Hotspur have reportedly reached an agreement with Galatasaray defender Victor Nelsson, according to reports.

Who is Victor Nelsson?

Nelsson is a Danish international who first arrived at the Nef Stadium from FC Copenhagen back in August 2021 and he’s since gone on to make 78 appearances to date, 31 of those being starts this season from 33 games in the Super Lig.

The Lilywhites have Clement Lenglet out of contract at the end of the campaign upon the expiration of his season-long loan from Barcelona, so should he not make his move permanent, Ryan Mason’s successor could be on the hunt to find a new centre-back, and the 24-year-old appears to have been identified as an ideal target in N17.

Are Tottenham signing Nelsson?

According to T24 (via Sport Witness), Tottenham “came to Galatasaray with a €25m (£21m) offer”, with the Turkish side now “working” on sanctioning his sale. The club's president Erden Timur “made a trip” to London to hold “transfer talks” with several clubs, one of those being Spurs, and despite not wanting to let him go, they have “softened their stance” as a result of him showing his “desire to leave”.

The report adds that Spurs chiefs have had a meeting with the Denmark international, where it has been claimed they have “reached an agreement”, presumably on personal terms.

Galatasaray defender Victor Nelsson.

Prior to joining Galatasaray, Nelsson was dubbed a “monster” by football talent scout Jacek Kulig, and considering the extremely high standard of his performances that he's continued into this season, Tottenham could be recruiting a fantastic centre-back should this deal get 100% finalised.

The World Cup participant currently averages 3.4 clearances and 3.1 aerial wins per league game, via WhoScored, so is a real rock at the heart of the backline, but he’s also capable of contributing to his team’s efforts at the opposite end of the pitch.

Nelsson, who has the versatility to operate slightly higher up in defensive and central midfield alongside his natural position in the backline, has scored one goal and also provided an assist across all competitions this term, so can be useful when it comes to set pieces and long balls in the final third.

Whether Tottenham’s new permanent manager will have his eye on the same targets as Daniel Levy is highlighting now when appointed yet remains to be seen, but regardless, Nelsson may make for an impressive signing no matter which candidate finds themselves in the dugout in the capital ahead of the 2023/24 term.

Liverpool Enter Race For £53k-p/w "Beast" To Succeed Firmino

Liverpool have joined the race to bring Borussia Monchengladbach striker Marcus Thuram to the Premier League, according to reports.

Who is Marcus Thuram?

Thuram is a centre-forward who currently plays his football at the Borussia Park having moved there from Guingamp back in 2019, and he’s since gone on to become a regular feature of the first-team having clocked up 134 appearances to date.

The France international started 28 of the 34 Bundesliga games last season and was a standout performer under Daniel Farke before he departed, ranking as his manager’s top-performing offensive player and second overall with a WhoScored match rating of 7.09, so he’s bound to have attracted interest.

However, the 6 foot 4 titan will be out of contract at the end of the month and is expected to depart as a free agent having not signed a deal to extend his stay, with his potential availability having alerted FSG and Jurgen Klopp at Anfield.

Are Liverpool signing Thuram?

According to Spanish reports (via CaughtOffside), Liverpool have entered the running to sign Thuram ahead of the 2023/24 campaign. The Reds are reportedly “hoping to snap him up” for nothing during the upcoming window, and it’s stated that the striker could be wanting to “take the next step” in his career. The Premier League is viewed as an “attractive option” so he is therefore “likely to be tempted” should an offer arrive at his door.

Borussia Monchengladbach striker Marcus Thuram.

Where would Thuram fit in at Anfield?

Liverpool have confirmed that Roberto Firmino is leaving the club so Klopp will be in need of a suitable replacement in time for the start of the new season, and given the fact that he would be available to recruit for quite literally free, Thuram could be the perfect long-term successor, allowing the serious funds to be spent in midfield.

The World Cup participant, who pockets £53k-per-week, racked up 19 goal contributions (13 goals and six assists) in 30 Bundesliga appearances last season and recorded a total of 92 shots over the course of the campaign, which was higher than any other of his fellow teammates, as per FBRef, with this form seeing him collect four man-of-the-match awards.

Borussia Monchengladbach’s “beast”, as dubbed by talent scout Jacek Kulig, is also a versatile operator with his ability to operate everywhere across the frontline, including at centre-forward, out wide on both flanks and as a second striker, so he really seems to have all the qualities to fit what the boss is likely to be looking for in a Firmino replacement.

Man United Could Land A Dalot Upgrade With "Exceptional" £43m Gem

Manchester United need to improve in a few areas this summer if Erik ten Hag wants to challenge for the Premier League title and to go on a deep run in the Champions League.

Signing a top-class centre-forward is a must, with Anthony Martial and Wout Weghorst netting just 11 goals between them in all competitions, with the burden falling onto Marcus Rashford to give United that edge in front of goal.

The midfield could also be rejigged, as with Marcel Sabitzer finishing his loan spell and Scott McTominay linked with a move away from the club, Ten Hag will be aiming to sign a couple of reinforcements before bigger challenges await next term.

But could he bolster his full-back area too? The Red Devils are interested in signing Monaco right-back Vanderson during the summer transfer window, according to Brazilian outlet Zero Hora.

The report explains that the Old Trafford side have made a potential offer to Monaco for the defender, although it falls short of the €50m (£43m) valuation that the Ligue 1 side have stated.

Would Vanderson be a good signing for Manchester United?

United have recently given Diogo Dalot a contract extension until 2028, with the Portuguese full-back looking like he could be a key part of Ten Hag’s revolution at the club.

However, signing Vanderson may well mean Aaron Wan-Bissaka could be on the move this summer as there wouldn’t be much room for three senior right-backs in the squad, and with the Dutchman looking for a more ‘attacking’ option on the right side of defence, according to The Athletic, the Brazilian could even be an upgrade on Dalot.

Indeed, this season, the 21-year-old has registered more goals and assists (five to three), shot-creating actions per 90 (2.52 to 2.17), goal-creating actions (eight to two) and touches in the attacking penalty area (583 to 390), clearly suggesting that the Monaco starlet is a more potent threat in front of goal than Dalot, while also getting into the opposition penalty area more over the course of a season, utilising his attacking abilities.

Monaco's Vanderson

It isn’t just going forward that Vanderson could offer an upgrade either, with the right-back ranking in the top 3% across Europe’s big five leagues for tackles and interceptions per 90, whereas Dalot ranks in the top 29% and 13% for the same metrics respectively compared to the Monaco sensation.

He was lauded for a display against Lyon in 2022, with Statman Dave saying it was an “exceptional performance” as he won 70% of his duels, won all of his tackles and completed 89% of his passes – and Ten Hag must act swiftly in order to bring him to Manchester this summer.

34-Year-Old Holds Talks With Celtic Over Managerial Position

Celtic's search for a new manager has taken them to Francesco Farioli, with the Hoops board holding talks with the exciting young coach, according to the The Daily Record.

Who is going to be Celtic manager?

The Scottish side have been left in limbo after Ange Postecoglou decided to leave the club and head to Tottenham in the Premier League. After winning the Scottish Premiership title, the Scottish League Cup and the Scottish Cup in the 2022/23 season, the boss has decided to part ways with Celtic and will now be moving on to White Hart Lane.

It leaves the outfit in need of a new manager and they've been mulling over their potential candidates for the role. High up on the list is Brendan Rodgers, who has previously been in charge of the Scottish club. During his last stint with them, he managed two Scottish Cup victories, three Scottish League Cup trophies and won the league on two occasions. He then went on to take over at Leicester and managed to win the FA Cup with them too.

However, with the Foxes slipping into the relegation spots this year, they decided to get rid of the former Liverpool boss and it means he could be available for the Celtic hotseat. He isn't the only name linked with the job, with Enzo Maresca another name mentioned in the papers regularly.

A report from the Daily Record now suggests that Francesco Farioli could be one of the names high up on the hitlist at Celtic. The boss is apparently eager to make the move over to the Scottish Premiership if the chance presents itself and it could be a real possibility, with the club having already spoken to the manager about potentially taking the reins. They are still exploring a few different possibilities for the role though, so he is far from a sure thing at this stage.

Who is Francesco Farioli?

Farioli is only 34-years-old and is relatively new to the management game but does have some experience at a decent level already, having managed both Alanyaspor and Karagumruk in the Turkish Super Lig.

He averaged at least 1.5 points per match with both of those sides and whilst he has yet to win any silverware, he did manage to lead Alanyaspor to fifth during his first season there. That tailed off in the second campaign and ultimately led to him leaving the role but he was still able to generate more wins than losses during his time with the side, and is known for playing an extremely attack-minded brand of football, similar to Postecoglou's front-foot mentality.

Farioli is a gamble of an appointment then considering his relative lack of experience and the fact he averages less than a year at each club he manages, but his use of an attacking 4-1-4-1 formation would certainly excite Celtic fans if it translates into the type of performances Postecoglou managed to conjure.

Transfer Insider: Exciting "In The Next Few Days" Liverpool Claim

Liverpool will make their priorities clearer 'in the next few days' at Anfield as Jurgen Klopp looks to bring in midfield reinforcements this summer, according to journalist Dean Jones.

What midfielders have Liverpool been linked with?

According to FootballTransfers, Borussia Monchengladbach ace Manu Kone remains high on Liverpool's shortlist at Anfield as their hunt for midfield signings intensifies.

The report states that Liverpool may have to pay up to €40 million (£34.1 million) to land the enforcer and talks are said to have taken place between his current employers and the Reds.

As per The Athletic, Liverpool are also believed to have held 'positive discussions' with Bayern Munich midfielder Ryan Gravenberch, though the German giants are reluctant to let go of the 21-year-old in the transfer window.

Journalist Jacque Talbot has revealed that Liverpool are keen on Khephren Thuram and issued an update on their pursuit on Twitter, stating: "Told Nice are in talks with Liverpool over the potential fee for Khephren Thuram but there is a fear that the French outfit may look to draw out a number of other interested clubs in purchasing the Reds’ number one target."

Liverpool have already completed one midfield signing in the form of Alexis Mac Allister, who has arrived from Brighton & Hove Albion for an initial fee of £35 million, as per Sky Sports.

Speaking to GIVEMESPORT, journalist Jones has stated that Liverpool's intentions over who they may turn to next to feature in their engine room moving forward will start to become clearer shortly.

Jones said: “I think it's an example of when clubs have to have a wide field of options and decide which one they're closing in on.

“They’re not going to sign all three of those, but after getting Mac Allister through the door, they'll still sign at least one more midfielder.

“It will probably be one of those two [Thuram and Kone] or Gravenberch. I think it should become clear in the next few days.”

Have Liverpool targeted any other midfielders this window?

Liverpool have targeted a whole host of midfielders as they look to replace the departed trio of Naby Keita, James Milner and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, who have all left the club under freedom of contract.

According to Football Insider, Fulham anchorman Joao Palhinha is a target for the Reds, though they will need to pay a fee of around £50 million to tempt the Cottagers into selling him.

joao-palhinha-fulham-liverpool-transfer-premier-league

The Daily Mail report that Southampton ace James Ward-Prowse has also cropped up on the radar at Anfield following his current employers' relegation to the Sky Bet Championship.

In a different Football Insider scoop, Ward-Prowse's teammate Romeo Lavia has been identified as another potential incoming; however, Liverpool are keen not to be dragged into a drawn out pursuit for the 19-year-old this summer.

Yannick Carrasco Weighs In On Thibaut Courtois Belgium Drama

Yannick Carrasco has spoken out against his Belgium teammate Thibaut Courtois following the goalkeeper's fallout with national team coach Domenico Tedesco.

What has happened between Thibaut Courtois and the Belgium manager?

Earlier this week, Tedesco announced that the Real Madrid keeper had left the national team set-up, after confronting him and revealing he felt he'd been disrespected when Romelu Lukaku was appointed captain in Kevin De Bruyne's absence.

Speaking to BBC Sport, he said:

"Together we decided that Romelu would be captain against Austria and Thibaut tomorrow against Estonia.

"That was OK for everyone but after the match [Courtois] suddenly wanted to talk to me and said he was going home because he was disappointed and felt offended."

Courtois took to Instagram to hit back at the claims, revealing he'd left due to an injury and no other reason and was "surprised" to hear the comments from his manager, noting: "I am deeply disappointed with this, but I want to make it clear that the coach's assessments do not fit with reality."

Belgium'sThibautCourtois

While it's currently unclear what actually went down between the two, and the real reasons for the former Chelsea goalkeeper's departure from the national team this week, Carrasco has spoken out publicly about the situation, and it's pretty clear where his opinion lies right now.

What did Yannick Carrasco say about Thibaut Courtois?

The Atletico Madrid man spoke after Belgium's 3-0 win against Estonia, and revealed how he felt about the entire situation and his disappointment in Courtois.

Speaking to Manuel Jous, the 29-year-old said:

"We more or less understood what happened. We had a meeting with the coach who was clear with us. We, the old ones, have not yet had the opportunity to speak with Thibaut. But we were disappointed with his reaction."

Carrasco revealed he thought that as a leader, Courtois had a responsibility to set an example for the younger members of the squad and didn't feel as though he'd done that with his reaction, adding:

"In the end, he is a manager of the team, he is one of the three captains. An armband is just a detail. You have to show that you are a leader and a captain with your personality. He chose to leave. He was embarrassed or not, we don't know. But one of the reasons for his departure was also the armband."

The comments revealed the winger doesn't believe Courtois left the Belgium team due to an injury, and in fact, went home as a result of Lukaku being handed the captain's armband.

After over 100 international caps, it remains to be seen what long-term implications this will have on the goalkeeper's future with the national team and whether his relationship with Tedesco is fractured beyond repair.

Leaked Footage Reveals Arsenal’s First Summer Transfer

The ability of football fans to play the role of detective in the transfer window will forever be impressive. Whether it is tracking flights, or somehow discovering unreleased photos, they will make sure to find out.The latest fans to successfully play the role of Sherlock Holmes are Arsenal fans, who have been one step ahead of the club throughout the entirety of the Kai Havertz transfer saga. With the Chelsea forward closing in on a move across London, those in North London have leaked his first interview as a Gooner. It’s fair to say that the transfer is all but announced by the club.

How much is Kai Havertz costing Arsenal?

Initially making the switch to Chelsea in 2020 for a fee of £71m, the Blues are set to recoup the majority of that fund this summer, with Arsenal reportedly paying £65m to complete a deal.

The move comes as a surprise, given the attacking talent that the Gunners already have at their disposal. Mikel Arteta already has Gabriel Jesus, Eddie Nketiah, and Folarin Balogun to choose from next season. Add Havertz into the mix, and he’s got quite the selection dilemma.

As Arsenal’s return to Champions League action beckons, however, squad depth is far from a bad quality to have. We saw last season just how much a title race against Manchester City took out of Arteta’s side, who could have pulled off a shock win with added depth.

Given his reported price tag, Havertz will need to hit the ground running at the Emirates next season, especially after scoring just seven Premier League goals for Chelsea in the last campaign.

Arteta’s first job will be getting the German back to his best form and back to the confidence level that he last had after scoring the winning goal in the Champions League final against Manchester City.

Arsenal fans leak Kai Havertz interview

Taking to Twitter to reveal the interview, Arsenal fans clearly couldn’t wait any longer for the official announcement, which is now just a formality more than anything else.

On his arrival, Havertz said: “It’s super exciting for me personally. I’m so glad to join this amazing club.

“This club has such a big history and I hope we can achieve lots of things. I’m looking forward to meeting the players and staff, it’s going to be exciting.”

He added: “You can see the family mentality the team has on the pitch and I guess they have it off the pitch as well. The team mentality in the squad is very, very high and you can feel that. That was one of the reasons why it was so hard to play against Arsenal.

“And, obviously, there are so many talented players and, you know, there’s big room to achieve big things as well.”

Speaking about his experience in Europe, he also said: “I think the Champions League is a special tournament and I think every football player just loves to play there. I was fortunate to win the trophy and you know, for me, it was the best feeling I’ve ever had.

“So to play there again next season with Arsenal is very exciting for me.”

We’re sure that the fans will continue to play their role of detective as the summer goes on, too, perhaps saving the North London club a job of rushing to announce players.

Arsenal fans are certainly eager to welcome fresh faces, that’s for sure, as they gear up for potentially another rollercoaster campaign under Arteta and co next season.

Leeds Set To Bid For"Excellent £30k-p/w Wober Partner

Leeds United are reportedly plotting their first transfer move of the window…

Will Karl Darlow sign for Leeds United?

According to Sky Sports' Keith Downie, who holds a focus on news breaking out of Newcastle United, they could well do.

They are one suitor seeking to pry Karl Darlow from Tyneside. The backup goalkeeper is unlikely to displace the ever-present Nick Pope, and having shone on loan at Hull City more recently, could seek to turn that into a future career where he is a starter.

The journalist took to Twitter to note: "Bournemouth & Leeds United are battling it out to sign Newcastle keeper Karl Darlow. Boro also showed interest but can’t match the wages. Darlow has two years left on his NUFC deal & will command a fee. No official bid from either club — but will come soon."

His reported £30k-per-week salary would likely have to be cut to make this move a reality though.

How good is Karl Darlow?

Although he has only featured 100 times for the Magpies despite having been at St James' Park for nine years now, his brief stints as the starting keeper offered glimpses into the fine shot-stopper he could be for a club willing to put their faith in him.

His performances during the 2020/21 campaign stand out particularly, given the huge praise he attained for keeping the scorelines down under Steve Bruce's troublesome tenure.

Maintaining a 6.92 average Sofascore rating throughout that term, he was forced to make 3.5 saves per game, some of which defied belief.

Ally McCoist even sought to praise his "top-class goalkeeping" after one such stop somehow thwarted Mohamed Salah's strike from point-blank range. Journalist Mark Douglas supplemented this, noting: "Karl Darlow should be in the England conversation. Excellent 45 – again."

It is likely these spells that spurred the Tigers to take a punt on the experienced ace, to which he rewarded them across 12 games last season.

This time he would record a 7.08 average rating, conceding only 1.2 goals per game whilst making 2.9 saves per game at a 71% success rate, via Sofascore.

For comparison, Illan Meslier would only manage a 6.65 average rating as his side fell to the drop, shipping two goals per game with a woeful save percentage of just 58%, via Sofascore.

To replace the Frenchman with a far more dependable asset would likely also have a huge effect on Max Wober, who already had enjoyed a solid start to life in Yorkshire.

max-wober-leeds-united

His 6.84 average rating made him Leeds' third-best player of those who had made five or more starts, with this figure buoyed through his 1.7 interceptions, 1.6 tackles and four clearances per game, via Sofascore. To think that he joined in January only emphasises the speed with which he acclimatised.

To place this kind of defensive work rate in front of a reliable shot-stopper like Darlow would see both improve massively, as a more well-rounded relationship who share a desperation to prevent goals.

Such steely determination would be a fine asset to have in the Championship, and this combination would lay the perfect defensive foundation for an instant Premier League return.

In fact, Darlow's presence would likely provide a boost to everyone within the squad, as no longer would they have the vulnerable 23-year-old in between the sticks.
