Aston Villa Could Sign ‘Monster’ £43m Chambers Upgrade

Aston Villa are reportedly interested in Juventus defender Gleison Bremer, as Unai Emery aims to bolster his squad this summer.

The Spaniard, along with compatriot Monchi has it in his sights to bring the glory days back to the Midlands, as Villa bid to sufficiently equip the squad in preparation for their European adventure.

With the likes of Pau Torres and Aymeric Laporte linked as central defenders that could head to Villa Park, Bremer has joined the list of potential targets with news in Italy naming the Villans as a club interested in the Juventus centre-back.

Last weekend, La Gazetta dello Sport, relayed by Calcio Mercato, reported that both Aston Villa and Tottenham are ‘ready to move’ for the 26-year-old with ‘official bids’ expected.

The report states that a fee exceeding the €50m (£43m) mark could force Juve to ‘seriously think’ about letting the Brazilian depart, after signing from Torino only last summer.

What could Gleison Bremer offer to Aston Villa?

This transfer window, Emery is expected to clear the deadwood at the club to allow for an efficient upgrade ahead of his first full campaign at the helm of Villa Park.

A thrilling first term at the club has opened doors for the Spaniard to compete in the market, with the four-time Europa League winner reportedly having a transfer kitty of £150m to spend, as per Football Insider.

As reported today by David Ornstein, the Villans have reached an agreement to sign Emery’s former player Pau Torres from Villarreal, and with Bremer also linked, it could signal a complete revamp of the back line ahead of next season.

With a host of talent speculated to be Villa bound, one name that could be ushered away from the Midlands is Calum Chambers, who has made just 25 league appearances since signing for the club from Arsenal in the 2022 January window.

Recording just two starts all season, the Englishman could be replaced in the squad by a talent as highly regarded as Bremer, who could add serious firepower to Emery’s back line in his place.

Lauded as a “monster” by journalist Maxi Angelo, the Brazilian ranked as Juve’s third-highest performer last campaign, with an average Sofascore match rating of 7.11 in 30 Serie A appearances.

The 26-year-old won 56% of his total duels, as well as averaging 1.4 interceptions, 3.8 clearances and 2.6 aerial wins per game, while contributing to 12 clean sheets in the league, via Sofascore.

On an average based on his appearances this term, Chambers fell far short in comparison to the commanding Itapitanga-born machine, winning just 47% of his total duels and being expelled down the pecking order at Villa Park.

Described as “poor” by journalist Josh Bunting during his time in north London, Emery could free up £52k-per-week by letting the Englishman go, making room for talents at a level to compete in Europe.

Wolves: Lopetegui Eyeing "Dreamy" £13m Target To Rival Neto At Molineux

Wolverhampton Wanderers are ready to make a presence in the transfer window, as the club have been linked to a Serie A youngster.

As reported by reliable journalist John Percy via the Telegraph, speculation regarding Julen Lopetegui’s future is over with the Spaniard committed to his work at Molineux.

The report also revealed that amidst the Old Gold’s Financial Fair Play (FFP) woes, the former Real Madrid boss will make new signings within the £8m-£15m bracket.

The news will come as a relief to those involved, and a positive boost to rumours linking the latest talent to the club.

What’s the latest on Samuel Iling-Junior to Wolves?

As reported by Calciomercato.com this week, Wolves are said to be one of the sides interested in Juventus forward Samuel Iling-Junior.

Despite suggesting that the Italian giants ‘aim’ to keep hold of the 19-year-old, both Brighton & Hove Albion and Wolves have emerged on the ‘list of suitors’ for the Englishman.

The winger is valued around the €15m (£13m) mark, with the report claiming that offers in this region will be evaluated by the club.

What could Samuel Iling-Junior offer to Wolves?

Having made just one start in Serie A this season, the Islington-born gem has managed to impose himself on the side in his 12 appearances over an average of 27 minutes per game, via Sofascore.

At just 19, it’s not expected that the former Chelsea academy star would be making the immediate jump for Juventus’ academy system to first-team, however, the signs are evident to suggest that the Italians have a serious talent on their hands.

Once hailed as “dreamy” by U23 scout Antonio Mango, the teen could thrive at Molineux if given the chance to consistently find his feet in the first team.

His statistics over this season place him among some of the best performers in Europe, based on his averages per 90 relative to minutes played, and the hint of the talent he can produce despite not being frequently deployed.

A lack of game time can be a hindrance to players, however in 497 minutes, the 19-year-old gem maintained high averages in attributes favoured in a wide forward.

As per FBref, the London-born talent ranked in the top 1% of those in his position in Europe in terms of frequency of assists, recording an average of 0.36 per 90.

The Juventus starlet also lit up in terms of his progressive play, averaging 1.63 successful take-ons per 90 as well as receiving 8.87 progressive passes, highlighting his ability to get into advanced positions to induce threat.

While Pedro Neto is a favoured name in Lopetegui’s side, the Portuguese dynamo has been an underperformer this season and could have his spot compromised should Iling-Junior unleash his form at Molineux.

The 23-year-old failed to register a single goal or assist in 18 appearances for Wolves throughout the 2022/23 campaign, and may benefit from added competition to the squad in the bid to showcase his worth and cement his spot.

Only time will tell if Wolves opt to sign the Serie A talent, however, there is no denying the impact he could have at Molineux, given the evidence above.

Liverpool Seriously Want To Sign £110k-p/w ‘Baller’

Liverpool could pull off a huge signing this summer by forging ahead with a move for electric Napoli phenom Piotr Zielinski, who has been excellent this season.

What's the latest on Piotr Zielinski to Liverpool?

According to Polish outlet Meczyki (via reports in Spain), Liverpool are 'seriously considering' a move for Zielinski as manager Jurgen Klopp looks to reshape his centre.

The 28-year-old playmaker has been of previous attention to the Reds, with Udinese turning down a bid of £11.7m from the Merseyside club in the early phases of Klopp's reign.

While Liverpool do hold interest, it is unlikely that the Serie A champions would be willing to part with such an instrumental member of their title-winning exploits, however, the player's contract is set for expiry in 2024, which could force Napoli into cashing in on their £23m-rated asset while they can.

Should Liverpool sign Piotr Zielinski?

The argument that Liverpool have been somewhat over-reliant on creativity from the flanks during Klopp's tenure certainly wouldn't be a baseless claim.

Indeed, marauding full-backs Andy Robertson and Trent Alexander-Arnold have collectively chalked up a whopping 134 assists for the Anfield outfit, both making their debuts under Klopp's wing, with the German gaffer's system demanding a more consummately industrious midfield.

Zielinski, however, could rewrite the script; the £110k-per-week machine has been a faultless presence for his outfit this term, hailed as a "baller" by The Athletic's Patrick Boyland, scoring seven goals and providing ten assists from 40 matches as the Little Donkeys secured their first Scudetto since 1989/90.

The distinguished Poland international, with 80 caps, is one of Europe's superlative creative forces, with FBref ranking him among the top 11% of midfielders for rate of goals, the top 1% for rate of assists and shot-creating actions and the top 18% for progressive carries per 90, with the site likening him to the likes of Kevin De Bruyne, Martin Odegaard and Luka Modric.

He is the all-encompassing midfielder Liverpool need to return to the top, having fallen by the wayside this term and scrambling to qualify for the Champions League, fifth with three matches to play.

His former boss, Carlo Ancelotti, furthered the argument that he is one of Europe's leading midfielders after waxing lyrical over his laudable scope.

He said: “Zielinski is a complete midfielder, he played in all positions with me. He is dynamic and skilled with the ball.”

Napoli midfielderPiotr Zielinski.

Should Klopp succeed with a bid, the 5 foot 10 gem could forge a deadly partnership with the Reds' rising star Curtis Jones, who has impressed with his recent performances from the centre.

Liverpool are currently rising on a six-match win streak in the Premier League, unbeaten in eight, with eight of Jones' nine starts in the top-flight this term coming during this period, with one analyst & scout hailing him as the "complete #8".

With Jones ranking among the top 4% of midfielders across Europe's big five leagues for pass completion, as well as the top 8% for progressive carries, he can mirror Zielinski's impact and perhaps drive the ball further up-field with the regularity that will allow the Napoli maestro to find pockets to wreak havoc.

Liverpool must swoop, Napoli's blistering seasonal success is evidence enough that the Pole's acquisition would be a resounding triumph, and with Klopp holding a longtime admiration, he has clearly done his homework.

Manchester City’s £100k-p/w "Spiderman" Keen To Join Admirer

Manchester City striker Julian Alvarez is keen to join Real Madrid who are ready to table an offer to sign him this summer, according to reports.

What's the latest on Alvarez's future?

The Sky Blues forward first put pen to paper at the Etihad Stadium in January 2022, and after completing the rest of that season out on loan at River Plate, as per Transfermarkt, returned to the club and is now in his full debut season in the Premier League, having made 43 appearances to date.

In March, the Argentine signed a one-year contract extension which keeps him working with Pep Guardiola until at least 2028, but his future has always felt uncertain considering that he's the manager's second-choice up top and has been kept out of the team by Erling Haaland.

The Calchin native has made just nine top-flight starts this season compared to the Norwegian's 30, with 17 of his appearances having been as a substitute when brought off the bench, so it's clear that he's down the pecking order, and one admirer in particular are reportedly looking to capitalise on that by prising him away during the upcoming window.

According to Spanish reports (via Sport Witness), Real Madrid have "identified" Alvarez as a potential "heir" for Karim Benzema at the Bernabeu Stadium. Carlo Ancelotti is looking for a younger striker to succeed the veteran and believes that the 23-year-old would "fit in" to his squad.

The Los Blancos are ready to "go all out" to secure his services, and whilst Man City "don't plan to part ways" with him, it's stated that his suitor are "willing to do what is necessary" to tempt him. The La Liga giants are "prepared to make an attractive offer" to do this, and it's claimed that they are hopeful that his "desire to join" will aid them in completing a deal in the summer.

Manchester City striker Julian Alvarez.

Should Man City keep or sell Alvarez?

Man City will understandably view Haaland as their first-choice striker, but Alvarez has been dubbed an “electric” talent by scout Jacek Kulig and he’s still a great alternative to have in the building, so Guardiola should definitely retain his services beyond the summer.

The Sky Blues forward, who pockets £100k-per-week, has posted 20 goal contributions (15 goals and five assists) in 43 appearances since joining and is currently averaging 1.4 shots per league game, highlighting how prolific he can be when given the chance to play.

Alvarez also brings wonderful versatility to the squad having operated in five various positions this season alone under the boss, including everywhere across the frontline and even in attacking midfield, so for all of the potential that he has to offer, it would seem ridiculous to cash in just months after he committed to extending his stay even further.

Crystal Palace Eye Move For Kyogo Furuhashi

Crystal Palace are believed to be interested in signing Celtic attacker Kyogo Furuhashi during the summer transfer window, according to a new update.

Is Kyogo having a good season?

The 28-year-old has become an influential player for the Hoops since arriving from Vissel Kobe back in 2021, scoring 48 goals in just 74 appearances, as well as chipping in with 10 assists. This season, he has netted 22 times in 26 Scottish Premiership matches, standing out as one of the most effective attacking players in the division.

Kyogo's brilliance stood out again on Saturday as Celtic beat bitter rivals Rangers 3-2 at Parkhead, with the Japanese scoring two of his side's goals on the day, as they edge closer to the title glory this season.

While the forward's current Hoops deal doesn't expire until the end of the 2024/25 season, it could be that he looks for a new challenge this summer, with a move to the Premier League possibly on the cards. That's where Palace come into play, as they look to make some key signings during the upcoming window.

Could Palace snap up Celtic man this summer?

According to Football Insider, the Eagles have "watched the 28-year-old regularly this season and have been left impressed by his performances". Celtic are believed to be "braced for offers" for one of their most important players, while a "bid of £15million could be enough to prise the forward away from Parkhead".

Kyogo could be a really shrewd signing by Palace this summer, coming in as a slightly different option than the likes of Wilfried Zaha, Eberechi Eze and Michael Olise. The 16-cap and three-goal Japan international leads the line with a combination of quality, hard work and team ethic, not only scoring goals at a regular rate but also providing for others, as his aforementioned assist tally highlights.

The Eagles are lacking a ruthless goalscorer currently, with Odsonne Edouard and Jean-Philippe Matete scoring just five times between them in the Premier League. Granted, Kyogo could find the step up from the Scottish Premiership tough to adjust to, but he should still be a strong option than the current Palace attacking central pair, having been called "outstanding" by Celtic manager Ange Postecoglou.

At 28, Kyogo is at peak age to come in and make an immediate impact at Selhurst Park, possessing plenty of experience at this point in his career, but also still hopefully remaining in and around his prime years for the foreseeable future.

Liverpool in the race to sign Evan Ndicka

Liverpool are in the race to sign Eintracht Frankfurt centre-back Evan Ndicka during the summer transfer window, according to a fresh transfer rumour.

The Lowdown: Ndicka shining for Frankfurt

The 23-year-old is enjoying an excellent season for the Bundesliga side season currently, proving to be a dominant figure at the heart of their defence throughout the campaign.

Ndicka has started 24 of Frankfurt’s 25 league games in 2022/23 to date, helping them to sixth place in the table, averaging a whopping five clearances per game in the competition, far more than any Reds regular in the Premier League.

The Frenchman is out of contract at the end of the season, however, and with an extension not likely to be signed, there could be a big fight for his signature.

Ndicka is unlikely to be without suitors if that is the case, which is where Liverpool come into the equation.

The Latest: Liverpool in the mix

According to reports in Spain [via Sport Witness], the Reds are one of the clubs battling to acquire the centre-back’s signature at the end of the season.

Barcelona, Inter Milan, AC Milan, Juventus and Paris Saint-Germain are all mentioned as possible destinations for him, too, highlighting how strong the competition to snap him up is.

It is Barca who are focused on the most in the report, with the Catalan giants keen on signing a left-footed central defender this summer, but they are aware that Liverpool’s interest could scupper their plans.

The Verdict: Brilliant centre-back option

The Reds badly need a new centre-back in the summer, with serious doubts over the long-term worth of both Joel Matip and Joe Gomez at this point.

The former is out of contract at the end of next season and turns 32 later this year, while the latter’s performances have generally not been good enough this season, leading to speculation surrounding his future.

In Ndicka, Liverpool would be signing an excellent prospect – he has been hailed as a ‘superb player’ by football talent scout Jacek Kulig – and someone who could be an upgrade on both Matip and Gomez, perhaps a cheaper alternative to Josko Gvardiol too.

The fact that he is left-footed like Gvardiol would be an added bonus for Jurgen Klopp, giving his defensive options more balance, and he could even be viewed as Virgil van Dijk’s long-term successor alongside Ibrahima Konate.

Ndicka’s contract situation also means that Liverpool would be able to snap him up on a free transfer, which given the one-time capped France Under-21 international’s potential, would be an absolute bargain.
