Arsenal fans react to Henrikh Mkhitaryan’s performance for Armenia

[ad_pod ]

Some Arsenal fans have taken to Twitter to react after they found out that Henrikh Mkhitaryan had scored twice for Armenia in their European Championship qualifier against Bosnia.

The former Borussia Dortmund and Manchester United attacker was playing his second game of football since leaving the Gunners to join Serie A side Roma on loan, and shone with a Man of the Match display.

The Emirates faithful didn’t really see the best of the 30-year-old during his year-and-a-half long stay in north London, hence the decision to ship him out on loan.

One fan below said it was a shame that the supporters never got to see this type of Mkhitaryan, whilst another said that he hopes the attacker can carry this form on in Italy, presumably so the Gunners can offload him permanently come the end of the season.

Let’s take a look at some more of the Twitter reaction from some Arsenal fans…

Liverpool’s Rhian Brewster tweets his disappointment about FIFA rating

[ad_pod ]The FIFA ratings are out and you know what that means – fans and players alike are fuming about imaginary statistics. The EA Sports title is always a hot topic around this time of year as the next instalment of the long-running franchise edges closer to release.EA have an extensive database of footballers who they give ratings to every year based on a number of different attributes.Of course, this leads to some footballers debating their own rating in the game, and one of those players is Rhian Brewster. This time last year the teenager was given a rating of 62, with a shooting stat standing at just 60.He vowed to increase that to 85 within the next 12 months, but after his latest stats were revealed, he’s ended up rather disappointed.

In the end, his shooting stat only increased to 62, rather than the 85 that he was targeting.

The striker’s objective for this term remains the same though as he tweeted ‘Mission failed, we’ll get em next time’.

Luckily, if he keeps improving at the same rate he will have his 85 shooting in 12 and a half years – just in time for his 31st birthday.

Leeds fans are excited with Eddie Nketiah signing after seeing his goals

[ad_pod ]

Leeds fans are struggling to hide their excitement over Eddie Nketiah following his loan arrival on transfer deadline day.

The 20-year-old was snapped up on a temporary basis for the duration of the 2019/20 campaign from Arsenal and after the deal was announced, a video of him in action scoring goals in pre-season and for the Gunners’ youth sides was posted.

The footage shows Nketiah in lethal form as he scores a variety of different goals which was enough to whet the appetite of a host of supporters.

Two fans were so excited they compared him to Ian Wright and Thierry Henry, two players that the young forward has admitted himself he’s received tips from.

Nketiah was also labelled as a hungry player with some individuals focusing on what he can offer to Marcelo Bielsa’s side. One was happy he could play with both his right and left foot as another looked forward to the number of chances the side would create for him.

The Arsenal man scored during the Gunners’ final match of the 2018/19 season, netting against Burnley before signing for Leeds after they convinced him to reject Bristol City’s approach.

Here’s the best of the reaction.

Liverpool fans fume as Harry Wilson joins Bournemouth on loan

[ad_pod ]

Liverpool announced on Tuesday evening that Harry Wilson has joined Bournemouth on loan for the 2019/20 campaign.

The Wales international excelled during a loan spell at Derby County last season – scoring 18 times for the Rams in all competitions.

Wilson has been heavily involved in Liverpool’s preparations for the new campaign and scored an excellent long-range effort against Lyon last week.

It was not enough to convince head coach Jurgen Klopp to keep him, though, as a loan move to Eddie Howe’s Bournemouth has now been sanctioned.

Liverpool’s official website pointed out that the Welshman will now have the chance to play regularly in the Premier League after impressing in the Championship.

However, it would be fair to say that the news has not gone down too well with the Merseyside club’s fans, who have seen another player go through the door.

Celtic fans are not enjoying the idea of selling Scott Sinclair for £2m

[ad_pod ]

Celtic fans are not keen on selling Scott Sinclair this summer, after he was linked with a move to English Premier League new boys Sheffield United.

The Scottish Sun reported on Wednesday that the Hoops were willing to sell the winger to the Blades for a fee of around £2m, with Chris Wilder keen on adding the 30-year-old to his squad.

How can Celtic improve next season? A Hoops fan tells us how in the video below…

Sinclair has been one of the most important players at Celtic over the last three seasons, netting 60 goals in total for the club in that period, more than anyone else.

With just a year left on his current contract though, this could be the last opportunity for the Hoops to recoup a transfer fee for the experienced winger.

The reported £2m fee isn’t much in modern football and wouldn’t go far in terms of trying to secure a replacement for the player though.

Liverpool and Klopp taking the right action in loaning Marko Grujic out again

[ad_pod ]

According to the Liverpool Echo, Liverpool are planning to find another loan move for Marko Grujic this summer.

What’s the word, then?

Well, the Serbian international spend the entirety of last season out on loan with Bundesliga side Hertha Berlin, where it is safe to say he impressed given the glowing review he received by manager Pal Dardai.

Dardai said: “Marko is by far the best midfielder I’ve seen in my time at the club.” That is a very lofty compliment given the fact that Dardai spent 14 years as a player at the club, and has also spent seven years managing the youth team and the first-team.

You can relive Liverpool’s Champions League celebrations in glorious 2D thanks to the guys at 442oons in the video below…

Grujic, 23, netted five times last term and recorded one assist in 22 Bundesliga outings for Hertha, and the Echo report that Jurgen Klopp still thinks the midfielder has the potential to succeed at Anfield.

A loan is best for all parties

There is no doubting that the former Red Star Belgrade man has quality.

The 6 ft 3 powerhouse hasn’t done much wrong whilst on loan with Cardiff and then Hertha over the last two years, but there simply isn’t room for him to develop properly at Liverpool right now.

Klopp’s midfield currently consists of seven players – yep, seven.

Fabinho, Jordan Henderson, Georginio Wijnaldum, James Milner, Naby Keita, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Adam Lallana are all at Klopp’s disposal, so it appears to be near impossible that Grujic would get any meaningful game time.

A loan would also allow Liverpool to retain an asset who clearly has something about him given the praise he has received, whilst Klopp is no fool when it comes to making a judgement on a player.

Loaning him out would allow his value to be retained – or even see it increase – whilst he also gets to carry on honing his skills at a club where he will hopefully be given regular game time.

Liverpool fans react to link with teenage centre-back

[ad_pod ]

According to Goal.com journalist Neil Jones, Liverpool are interested in signing PEC Zwolle centre-back Sepp van den Berg in this summer’s transfer window.

The 17-year-old made 20 appearances for Zwolle’s first team last season.

According to Jones, Liverpool are keen to secure the teenager’s signature but they will face competition from the likes of Bayern Munich, Ajax and PSV Eindhoven.

Should a deal go through, Van den Berg would initially link up with the English side’s Under-18 outfit with the view to progressing to the Under-23s and beyond, according to the transfer report.

It has been a quiet summer window for Jurgen Klopp’s side thus far.

In fairness, though, the Merseyside outfit only ended their 2018-19 campaign earlier this month, having overcome Tottenham Hotspur in the Champions League final.

The Liverpool fans have been on social media offering their views on a potential deal for the Dutch teenager and a selection of their reaction can be seen below:

Liverpool: Adrian would be a safe backup option for Alisson

The life of a second-choice goalkeeper is often regarded as one of the loneliest jobs in football.

On the rare occasion do you play more than 10 games a season and barring an injury to the first-choice keeper, your season consists of keeping a seat on the bench warm and making an effort in the pre-match warm-up, which is why it’s not surprising to Adrian of West Ham searching for a look away.

The Spanish ‘keeper was once one of the best shot-stoppers in the league outside the top-six, but age and the introduction of Lukasz Fabianski has seen Adrian secure his spot on the bench for West Ham, and with his current deal running out, a move away seems likely, and a big team are keeping an eye on his situation.

According to Goal, Liverpool see Adrian as a possible backup to Alisson next season, with Simon Mignolet likely to make the move away from Anfield this summer after a campaign of sitting in the Brazilian’s shadow, and although the West Ham keeper might prefer a move for first-team football, moving up to Merseyside might not be a bad career choice.

The Spanish stopper, who is valued on Transfermarkt at £3.6 million, will be guaranteed some games next season, and with Liverpool fans gasping for some kind of silverware, there is a good chance the Reds will finally give competitions like the League Cup and FA Cup some attention, meaning Adrian could be an unlikely hero if the Merseyside club make a cup run.

At 32, Adrian is reaching the golden years of his footballing career, and at a club like Liverpool, the Spaniard could have one last swansong to cap off an interesting time in England.

Liverpool fans, would Adrian be a good backup for Alisson? Let us know!

Get in!: Leeds fans buzzing about Casilla departure rumours

[ad_pod ]

Leeds United fans on Twitter are buzzing after it was reported that Kiko Casilla may be on his way out of Elland Road after just six months at the club.

The keeper was brought in from Real Madrid in January, and he arrived with high expectations having been a Spain international and a Champions League winner.

But after just 19 games and a handful of clangers, it seems that he could be set to return to Spain this summer, per Alan Nixon.

The stopper’s worst performance came in the Whites’ playoff semi-final second leg against Derby County, where his showing arguably cost Leeds a place in the Premier League.

The 32-year-old was the Yorkshire club’s only January signing. He was brought in to try and push Leeds to the next level, but he hasn’t had the desired effect.

He is one of the Whites’ highest earners so they may have a hard time finding a potential suitor as his stock has dropped dramatically during his time in England.

Here’s what the Elland Road faithful have been saying on Twitter…

Sour grapes: Sheffield United fans laugh off Leeds conspiracy theories

[ad_pod ]Sheffield United fans on Twitter have laughed off conspiracy theories invented by Leeds fans after their 3-0 win against Hull City.Leeds fans believe there was foul play at work as the Blades dispatched of Hull with ease as Sheffield born former goalkeeper George Long started between the sticks for the Tigers.Fans have accused the goalkeeper of throwing the game after the first three shots that Long faced found the back of the net including a 25-yard-screamer from David McGoldrick.Unsurprisingly Blades fans have laughed off this speculation and labelled it no more than a coping mechanism as Leeds now look unlikely to be promoted to the Premier League automatically this season.Fans of Marcelo Bielsa’s side seem to be losing the plot as the promise of promotion slips away from them with just a few games to go.On a day where Leeds lost and their closest rivals won Sheffield United fans have taken great pleasure in mocking the meltdown that the results have caused. Here’s the best of the reaction on Twitter…
