Pumas are now reportedly happy to let manager Efrain Juarez join Celtic, who could take full advantage of their former star’s secret release clause at the Mexican club.

The Bhoys once again struggled on the European stage in midweek, losing 3-1 against Midtjylland, as Martin O’Neill saw their problems in full for the first time. The interim boss has continued to distance himself from the permanent job, despite recent reports suggesting that he could yet be the next man to take the hotseat.

For now, the 73-year-old is set to remain in the dugout for Celtic’s Scottish Premiership clash against Kilmarnock this weekend, but Parkhead chiefs are continuing their search.

Recent reports have claimed that Ipswich Town’s Kieran McKenna is now open to joining the Scottish giants, but it remains to be seen whether he’d leave Portman Road in the middle of a campaign which has so far been disappointing.

Meanwhile, Nicky Hayen is also a reported candidate. The Club Brugge manager knows all about beating the top clubs in Scottish football, having smashed Rangers 9-1 on aggregate in the Champions League qualifiers earlier this season and defeated Celtic last season. Now, he could be on his way to the home dugout in Glasgow.

Once again, however, luring him away from Club Brugge will not be an easy task. Instead, the Hoops may have no choice but to turn towards former player Juarez, who has previously shared that he dreams of managing the club.

It would save Celtic a transfer fee and it would welcome someone who knows the standards of the club, given that Juarez played for the Bhoys between 2010 and 2012. Whether he has the right managerial experience for the role is another question, though, and the Scottish club may find that out after reportedly scheduling an interview over zoom.

The former player, who uses a 4-2-3-1 system, has taken charge of just two sides and is yet to even reach 100 games as a manager. At this point in time, it should be questioned whether Celtic can afford to take such a gamble.

Juarez’s time at Pumas hasn’t exactly been the greatest success, either. The Mexican has lost more games than he’s won and averaged just 1.3 points over 33 games in charge. It suddenly makes the club’s willingness to let him leave make all too much sense for Celtic to make their move.

For the time being, those at Celtic Park should trust O’Neill with the job until a suitable candidate emerges.

ورصدت صحيفة “تليجراف” روايات شهود عيان عن القتل الوحشي للكلاب الضالة، وقدر التحالف الدولي لحماية الحيوان أن حوالي 10 آلاف كلب يُذبح أسبوعيًا في جميع أنحاء المغرب.

وجمعت أدلة على أنه يتم إعدام الكلاب بطرق تشمل إطلاق النار بالبنادق، وتسميمها، وحتى حرقها حية أمام أعين المدنيين، بمن فيهم الأطفال.

وقالت إليسا ألين، نائبة رئيس البرامج والعمليات في منظمة بيتا (PETA)، لصحيفة “مترو”: “لا يزال الفيفا يتجاهل الطعون، ويُعطي الأولوية لجني المزيد من الأموال على حساب حياة الحيوانات نفسها”.

وأضافت: “يتم تسميم الكلاب وإطلاق النار عليها وحرقها حيةً لتنظيف كأس العالم 2030، تُقتل هذه الحيوانات باسم الفيفا، وبالتالي فإن الاتحاد مُلزمٌ بالتحرك”.

وأكدت ألين: “يمكنه أن يسحب حق المغرب في الاستضافة المشتركة للبطولة إذا رفض وقف ذبح الكلاب، وأن يخصص أموالًا لدعم برنامج تعقيم في البلاد، مما سيساهم بشكل كبير في حل أزمة الحيوانات المشردة في الشوارع هناك، طالما استمر القتل الوحشي للكلاب، ستواصل بيتا حملتها وكشف هذه الانتهاكات”.

The last two seasons took place during July and August, however this year, with the 2026 T20 World Cup set to begin in February, Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) felt the later window better suited their needs.”The idea to conduct the LPL during this time frame is aimed at aligning the tournament with the ICC men’s T20 World Cup 2026,” LPL tournament director Samantha Dodanwela said.ESPNcricinfo also learnt that talks are underway to incorporate a sixth team into the tournament. Two months after his club's World Series victory over the New York Yankees, Los Angeles Dodgers star outfielder Mookie Betts told everyone how he feels about the Yankees fans who grabbed his glove and interfered with a play he was attempting to make during Game 4 of the Fall Classic.

During an appearance on a Peacock special titled with comedians Kevin Hart and Kenan Thompson earlier this week, Betts was encouraged to "say whatever" he wanted to say about the incident.

And the Dodgers star, who was previously rather courteous about the situation, didn't disappoint in his response, which was shared by Dodgers Nation on X (formerly Twitter).

"I would really say f–k you guys," Betts said. "Try and get the ball cool, but you're trying to grab my s–t."

Betts added that he thought about pulling a drastic move in reaction to the Yankees fans' interference, but his better angels prevailed.

"I was in the moment, so I thought about throwing the ball at them and then I realized, ‘Mook, you ain’t gonna do s–t, go back to right field!'"

In the first inning of Game 4 of the World Series, Yankees second baseman Gleyber Torres lofted a ball into foul territory in right field, prompting Betts to drift towards the stands in pursuit of the ball. As Betts leaped toward the wall, he initially made the catch, but a Yankees fan grabbed his glove and, with the help of his friend, pried the ball out of the webbing.

Torres was ruled out on fan interference and the fan was ejected, but the brazen moment quickly took over the news cycle. The fan, Austin Capobianco, who attended the game with his friend John Peter, explained after the fact that he was merely "defending" his area.

"We always joke about the ball in our area," said Capobianco. "We're not going to go out of our way to attack. If it's in our area, we're going to 'D' up. Someone defends, someone knocks the ball. We talk about it. We're willing to do this."

MLB later asked the Yankees to ban the fans from attending Game 5. As for Betts, he was initially diplomatic while speaking to reporters after Game 4, but in the aftermath of the Dodgers' World Series victory, he admitted during an interview on the FOX Sports's postgame show that he was frustrated enough to "fight" the fans.

But Betts's comments to Hart and Thompson were the most unfiltered—and perhaps honest—ones he's made yet on the incident.

The Boston Red Sox are in hot pursuit of starting pitching and may have to pivot to the trade market to find it.

On Tuesday, Max Fried agreed to an eight-year, $218 million contract with the New York Yankees, taking one of Boston's top targets off the board. While the Red Sox are still looking at Corbin Burnes, they also have interest in a big trade target.

MLB Network's Jon Morosi reported Tuesday that Boston is among the teams looking to trade for San Diego Padres righty Dylan Cease.

After arriving in San Diego via trade from the Chicago White Sox just before the 2024 season began, Cease went on to have an excellent campaign. He finished 14-11 with a 3.47 ERA, a 1.07 WHIP and 224 strikeouts in 189 1/3 innings.

Cease is under team control for one more season before hitting free agency. He's projected to make around $13 million for the 2025 season. The Padres are motivated to move the 28-year-old as they're unlikely to sign him to an extension and they'd like to move his contract and receive assets for him before he leaves at the end of the 2025 season.

There's no guarantee San Diego moves Cease, but given how high the prices are for starting pitchers so far this offseason, he is becoming increasingly attractive to other teams.

Pakistan coach Mike Hesson has acknowledged that they were “outplayed” on Sunday in their seven-wicket defeat against India. The injury list makes for grim reading. Randal Kolo Muani, Archie Gray, Ben Davies, Radu Dragusin, Dejan Kulusevski, James Maddison, Dominic Solanke, Yves Bissouma and Kota Takai are just some of the names on Tottenham’s large absentee list, with a good few not expected back in time for the Arsenal clash.

Solanke is apparently “unlikely” to make his return against Mikel Arteta’s side as the striker continues his recovery from minor ankle surgery, while Kolo Muani fractured his jaw against Man United, and it remains to be seen how long the summer signing will be out for.

Mohammed Kudus should recover from a knock to face Arsenal, offering some attacking relief, while Lucas Bergvall could return after completing concussion protocols following his head injury against Chelsea — even if he was sent home from Sweden international duty after a ‘setback’.

Taking into account the club’s fitness issues which have plagued the Lilywhites since the start of Ange Postecoglou’s final season in charge, it is no surprise that they’re considering moves in the winter transfer market to reinforce Frank’s options.

Tottenham tried and failed to sign Man City winger Savinho in the summer, and it is believed that another wide-forward is very much still on the agenda at N17.

Takefusa Kubo could be tempted to join Tottenham in January

Real Sociedad star Takefusa Kubo is a player who’s long been linked with a move to Spurs.

Some reports even suggest that the north Londoners have made ‘several’ failed attempts to sign the Japan international, but they’ve been given some encouragement in the build up to January as it is claimed that Kubo is keen on Spurs as a landing spot.

His contract reportedly includes a £52 million release clause, and journalist Pete O’Rourke has told Football Insider that Kubo could still be intrigued by a move to Tottenham this winter amid Sociedad’s worrying form which sees them hovering just three points above the relegation zone.

O’Rourke also calls Kubo a “top player” who’d tick a lot of boxes for Frank.

The 24-year-old, who left Real Madrid after successive loan spells away to join Sociedad permanently in 2022, averaged more successful take-ons per 90 than any of his teammates in La Liga last season (WhoScored), and more than any Tottenham player managed in England that campaign too.

Predominantly a right-winger, Kubo appears unlikely to threaten Kudus’ place in the side given his exceptional start, but can operate as both a central attacking playmaker and even a second-striker, which may well appeal to Frank.

The presence of a release clause means that Spurs can bypass negotiations with Sociedad by triggering it and entering talks with the player himself.

Kubo’s signing could also open up commercial opportunities in the Asian market, something which Tottenham have missed since club legend and South Korea icon Son Heung-min departed for Los Angeles FC in the summer.

Make no mistake, this could be one to keep an eye on, and Kubo has been tipped to become an eventual superstar by those who’ve worked with him.

A 909-day journey back home

When Laporta returned to the presidency in 2021, he radically revised the project, leading to socios approving a new model in December of that year. Turkish construction firm Limak was hired in early 2023, with funding secured through Goldman Sachs shortly thereafter.

Cricket West Indies (CWI) has made three changes to their list of men’s international retainer contracts for 2025-26, with former Test captain Kraigg Brathwaite, Joshua Da Silva and Kavem Hodge missing out. Miranda foi revelado nas categorias de base do Vasco e brigou pela titularidade na última temporada, mas não convenceu a comissão técnica de Ramón Diáz e perdeu espaço no clube.

Em 2021, o zagueiro foi suspenso por um ano por conta de um exame antidoping, que detectou uma substância diurética proibida no organismo do atleta após a partida contra o Defensa y Justicia, pelas oitavas de final da Copa Sul-Americana de 2020.

Miranda conseguiu recuperar a carreira e foi convocado por Ramon Menezes para representar a Seleção Brasileira sub-23 nos Jogos Pan-Americanos de 2023, no Chile. O atleta de 24 anos disputou 74 jogos pela equipe profissional do Vasco da Gama.
